The world is a complicated place these days, but then again, it always was.  Our lives and how we choose to live them are complicated too. Unhealthy habits riddle us because they meet our short term needs to feel better, numb out, and bolster the ego.  

But maybe, because of the unusual circumstances we find ourselves in today, we can make our health a priority.

**Before I list these helpful tips and reminders to bolster your immune function, I want to be clear that I am is full support of social distancing and mask usage when in close quarters while the Corona Virus Pandemic is in full swing. The science is very clear that masks lower risk of transmission and slow the spread of the virus. 

Immunity 101: It’s a full time job

Sleep, you need more…

Turn off screens well before bed time.

Have a bedtime.

Have a wake time.

Be consistent.

Remove screens from your bedroom.

Stop eating well before bedtime.

Cut back on the booze.

Food, eat more plants…

Add color and variety. Eat the rainbow is your new motto. 

Fermented foods like Kombucha, yoghurt, Kimchi, and Sour Kraut will help with gut health.

Prebiotics will help grow healthy gut flora too. Try Onions, Garlic, Asparagus, Bananas, Oats, Apples, Seaweed, Sweet Potatoes, and Flax seed…(there are more).

Exercise Regularly, not to look a certain way but to reap all kinds of immune boosting, longevity supporting benefits.

You don’t have to become a competitive athlete, just go on walks.

Find something you enjoy. Weights, swimming, walking, dancing, hiking, climbing, the list is endless. 

Move your body for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. 

Stress, counteract it on purpose with purpose

Have you ever heard of Yoga? Look for Yoga that includes Meditation and Restorative/therapeutic elements. Try Yin Yoga. 

Practice breath work and Meditation specific to Nervous system regulation. Try THE BREATHING APP. 

See a Therapist.

Get massages, Rolfing, and acupuncture regularly.

Hug the dog, hug the kid, hug those people inside your bubble.

Vitamins and Supplements, these are mine:

Fish oil with Vitamin D

Vitamin C (via lemon water and a multi-vitamin)

Zinc

Daily Adaptogens
